Nancy Miyahira

Director of Arts and Culture Programs

Nancy Miyahira is an urban place management leader who specializes in Arts & Culture programming as a catalyst to drive vibrancy, enhance a destination’s brand experience and foster community engagement and pride. In 2014, she spearheaded the Georgetown Business Improvement District’s first major public art initiative, launching  Georgetown GLOW, D.C.’s only free, curated, outdoor light art exhibition. Over the past nine years, she has collaborated with over 70 local, national, and international artists.

In addition to GLOW, she has developed and led arts partnerships with local organizations and events, hosting creative activations in outdoor spaces and inside vacant spaces. In 2024, she initiated Georgetown’s inaugural participation in the global music festival, Fête de la Musique -World Music Day, in partnership with the Embassy of France in D.C.

From 2009 to 2024, she served as the Vice President of Marketing for the Georgetown BID, where she oversaw marketing strategy, events and communications to promote Georgetown as a destination for local, national and international visitors. She also led and managed the BID’s arts activations programming.

An active member of the arts community, Nancy serves on the board of Hamiltonian Artists, is an advisory committee member for Art at Amtrak/Union Station DC and is a member of ArtTable. Prior to her work with the BID, Nancy held leadership roles in retail marketing and commercial real estate with Nordstrom, The Mills [acquired by Simon Property Group], Gensler and Duke Realty Corporation [acquired by Prologis]. She holds an MBA from The George Washington University and a BS in Journalism from the University of Maryland. A former Georgetown resident, she has called Woodley Park her home for 15 years.
